Teena is a BCOM, MBA graduate with a professional experience of more than 13 years in the Human Resource Department. She has lived in different parts of the country and traveled across India. As a people person she aims at building a good, long relationship with her customers and her passion to serve people is her driving gear. She never had the intention to start a business and never ventured into it with a business plan.
It was when she wanted to give her child the best of what is available, she decided to take it to a lot of homes and a lot of mothers. Having lived in the north of India, she realized that not many people down south here had access to these products and that’s where she let the seed of her thought bloom into a well-functioning business today.
Teena had to begin everything from scratch by herself and not being from a business background, unaware of the challenges it will bring, yet she dived into it undeterred.
The brand Homes and Hills
Home and Hills was started three years ago, along with her husband which makes them two for a perfect team. As a mother she wanted the best for her child and researched getting the best products to feed her child, that’s when she decided to give her near and dear ones a chance at tasting those products. It turned out that they loved them and shaped her positive intention into a successful business.
Now, Homes and Hills is catering to all parts of the country and is shipped across the world as well. She had to leave a well-paid job for this as she doesn’t believe in juggling two things. Her passion drove her to where she is today, of course with numerous challenges also, she has converted her passion to profit. She aims at supporting self-help groups like the tribal farmers, and small villagers by creating employment opportunities for them. She has tried to create a bridge between the farmers and consumers directly. They aim to deliver quality products to their customers.
Homes and hills cater to a variety of products and these products are all vacuumed, neatly packed with appropriate hygiene, and shipped across. During this process, she engages a lot of youngsters who help her with the packaging work and in return, it helps with earning opportunities to support themselves and become independent.
Challenges that Teena Faces
Nothing comes easy in life and being a small business owner she has to face challenges day in and day out. Especially, When you are unaware of what to expect from a dream or how to realize it.
Being a sole owner, with no kind of support, backup, or funding and working on everything from scratch she has managed to create a wonderful platform for Homes & Hills. Procuring products, checking on quality, setting standards, and handpicking them personally can all be very overwhelming. It can be very daunting and exhausting sometimes,
Despite this, and other numerous challenges she faces on a daily basis as she says in her own words “It’s what I want to do”
Homes and Hills haven’t reached where Teena aims it to reach but her positive light will definitely take it there , she says !
